Cushman sees jobs report as good news for office market

New federal Labor Department statistics showing an increase of 59,000 office jobs nationally (see CNBC video about the jobs report below) in November are a positive sign for the commercial office market, Cushman & Wakefield managing director of research Ken McCarthy said in a statement.

The jobs report released today shows the third straight month of increases in office employment.

“Most critically for the office property market, employment in office-using industries … increased by 59,000 jobs in November,” McCarthy said in the statement. “There is also a strong argument for healthy job growth tied to the need for businesses that cut employment levels significantly to now hire more quickly to meet rising demand.” TRD
