Statewide open house planned for April

If you were to pick a single weekend for Florida house hunting, April 10 and
11 would be a good one. About 50,000 properties will hold open houses
as part of a promotional push by the Florida Realtors, a trade group. The aim is for serious
buyers to be able to tour dozens of homes in a weekend while more tentative
shoppers can get a better idea of what the market is like, and
possibly end their fence-sitting, according to Florida Realtors President Wendell Davis, who suggested the
idea during the group’s recent business meetings. Florida Realtors is supporting the event
with a campaign that includes radio and newspaper advertising as well
as education on the $8,000 tax credit and the homebuying process.
