Real estate execs lobby Congress for eco-incentives, insurance relief

A delegation of six South Florida commercial real estate executives descended on Capitol Hill earlier this month to lobby Congress to put the industry’s concerns on the national agenda. The delegation, led by Chris Rotolo, president of Stiles Property Management and of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beaches, pushed for an extension of the 15-year depreciation period for tenant improvements, incentives for energy-efficient design and relief for Florida’s insurance premiums, among other issues.
