Palm Beach mansion sells for $9.4M

An 8,000-square-foot lakefront home at 1141 N. Lake Way has closed for $9.4 million, according to the Palm Beach Daily News. The two-story contemporary home, one of the last projects by late developer William Elias, has six bedrooms, an elevator, dock and large pool. Jim McCann of the Corcoran Group had the $12.9 million listing on for the Caribbean Modern house, which was designed by architects John Bellamy and Jeff Brasseur. The buyers, Thomas and Marina Purcell, of New York, are moving into one of Palm Beach’s most luxurious neighborhoods. Jordanian Princess Alia bint Al-Hussein lives up the road, and Bernie Madoff’s former pad, still languishing on the market for $7.9 million, is also nearby at 410 N. Lake Way.
