Two women visiting the subterranean mall of the Marco Polo Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach were hospitalized last night after the wooden floor collapsed beneath them. The resort, at 19201 Collins Avenue, contains 509 condominium units and 109 hotel rooms. It recently passed a building inspection, property manager Victor Sala told the Miami Herald, and was not evacuated following the accident, which left a 15-foot-wide, seven-foot-deep hole near the pool access area. A city building inspector checked the building again Sunday and reported that the building was secure.
