Hotel occupancy numbers rise

Hotel occupancy for the week ending March 20 was 11.7 percent better
than the same week in 2009 in Broward County, along with 10.4 percent
in Palm Beach County and 3.8 percent in Miami-Dade County, according to
a report by Smith Travel Research. Broward rates rose to $133 per
night, and Miami-Dade rates were 2.1 percent lower at $172.17. Palm
Beach County suffered the biggest rate fall at 8.6 percent, to $169.22
from $185.18, which had been the highest in the tri-county area. [SFBJ]
