Many luxury retailers in South Florida have been hurt during the
downturn, and a number of stores are facing foreclosures and evictions.
Home furnishing store Robb & Stucky was able to settle a lawsuit
filed last month by its Boca Raton landlord, which alleged that the
store was behind more than $550,000 in back rent. According to the
company, other locations of the Fort Myers-based company are doing
fine. Its Palm Beach Gardens landlord, however, claims it recently sent
the store an eviction letter. Elsewhere in the county, CityPlace has
filed eviction suits against Wild Olives Cafe and Taco Vida, along with
a suit against Taverna Opa that was quickly dismissed. [Sun Sentinel]
