The Collins Park garage is finally becoming a reality, after years of
requests and hopes by area residents for the city to build the garage.
The City of Miami came to a deal with American Riviera Real Estate late
Tuesday afternoon. The city’s plan involves a 360-space lot north of
the City Ballet building, which would be a boon to nearby cultural
institutions like the City Ballet, which have, to critics, lacked
adequate parking for some time. There are still several issues to be
resolved concerning the deal, which has been in the works for years,
including title transfer and potential inspections of the site. [Miami Herald]
