Successful loan modifications depend on “hardship letters”

As part of their more than one million applications for loan
modifications through the Making Home Affordable initiative, homeowners
in foreclosure have to write accompanying hardship letters detailing
their plight. Some in South Florida have even enlisted law firms to
assist them with writing the letters, like Robert Quesada of Fort
Lauderdale, who enlisted the firm of LaBovick & LaBovick in Palm
Beach Gardens. The firm suggests one-page letters, with specific dates
and details of the circumstances leading to the financial problems. [Palm Beach Post]
