Opponents of non-judicial foreclosures head to Tallahassee

Two bills that would create non-judicial foreclosures in Florida’s
courts may not make it to a full vote this year, but those who oppose
out-of-court foreclosures are heading to the capitol to make sure the
bills stay stagnant. Several groups are sponsoring buses to
Tallahassee, including Ice Legal, which is funding a 60-person bus from
West Palm Beach. Non-judicial foreclosures would give banks the
opportunity to forego judicial proceedings for foreclosures unless the
homeowner demanded them. The House’s Criminal & Civil Justice
Policy Committee declined to hear one of the bills arlier this month. [Palm Beach Post]
