Riviera Beach’s city council transferred an additional $870,000 from
the Dan Calloway Recreation Complex to complete renovations at
Bicentennial Park. The money comes as a loan to Riviera Beach’s
Community Redevelopment Agency, to be paid back in three years. The
highlight of the renovation project is an amphitheater on the north
side of the city marina, for which the council has agreed to hire an
architect. Renovations began in 2009, but were held up when several
issues held up construction. The city council paid $25,000 to Zeidler
Partnership Architects for a conceptual drawing of the amphitheater.
Zeideler also designed the Meyer Ampthitheatre in Wes Palm Beach. [Palm Beach Post]
