A commercial mortgage-backed securities fund represented by Miami lawyer David Trench has won a final
judgment of foreclosure against GFII DVI Cardel Sawgrass, the owner of
the Crowne Plaza at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, according to Broward
County Circuit Court records. The suit concerned an $18.6 million
mortgage on the 250-room, 166,011-square-foot property which was bought
in 2006 for $32.4 million. The Crowne Plaza sits across from the
Sawgrass Mills mall and was built in 2002. The hotel will be auctioned
