A former student has filed suit against Trump University, claiming she was conned into spending $60,000 on useless seminars at the unaccredited vocational school, according to Gawker. Tarla Makaeff’s federal class-action suit claims that the university’s promise of providing a “complete” real estate education was bogus and that the classes she attended did little else but pitch additional pricey classes to students. Makaeff also claims that she was promised a “one-year apprenticeship” through the program, which was, in reality, a three-day workshop that “consisted of no practical insights and no mentorship, but rather excursions to the Home Depot and ‘mentors’ who… recommend real estate deals they stood to benefit from financially.” [Gawker]
