The team behind Solar Mountain, a proposed indoor ski park targeting
North Miami, says the project could generate up to $356.7 million per
year for the city and Miami-Dade County, according
to a study by Orlando’s Fishkind & Associates. The park would
create 5,530 construction jobs, along with 3,983 permanent jobs, the
study shows. The Solar Mountain team is looking to begin construction
in 2011 with a 2013 completion date. Even so, the renegotiation of the existing lease signed by the Biscayne Landing
developers could prove a major hurdle, as Solar Mountain works to acquire it from
Wells Fargo. [Miami Herald]
