A new multiplex movie theater at Coconut Grove’s CocoWalk mall is set
to reopen tomorrow after being closed for eight months for renovations.
The theater is branded as a Paragon Theater, a spin-off company by
former executives at Muvico in Fort Lauderdale. Moviegoers will be able
to reserve seats, and buy beer and wine, and some shows are even restricted
to those 21 and over. CocoWalk is one of South Florida’s
highest-profile foreclosures, with an outstanding loan balance of more than $79 million as of early last month. The Grove has been struggling to rebound as it has faced competition from nearby Miracle Mile in Coral Gables and downtown Brickell. [Miami Herald]
