The Florida Department of Revenue announced that a new law signed last
month
will also offer a property tax breaks to drywall-tainted condos
and townhomes. According to the law, where homeowners have had to move
out because of drywall problems, the value of the building should be
assessed at nothing. The problem with the law was that, as Robert
Rabin, legislative affairs director for the Florida Department of
Revenue, noted, there is no clear definition in the law for single
family residential property. But the department announced the
definition would include single-family houses, condos and townhomes. [Palm Beach Post]
