Wilton Manors to get $80M new resort

Developer G Worldwide is set to break ground on an $80 million resort in Wilton Manors that will cater to the gay community. The 700,000-square-foot development is expected to be complete in 2011, according to David Holzapfel, COO of G Worldwide, who said that South Florida was a prime target for his New York City-based company. The property at 1224 NE 24th Street will feature a fitness center, spa, nightclub and art gallery, and will offer a timeshare component to interested parties. The development is expected to attract 500 new jobs to the area. [South Florida Gay News]
