Fort Lauderdale City Commissioners agreed last night to keep property
taxes no higher than $4.12 per $1,000 of assessed value, the current
rate. That rate will be sent out in notices by Property Appraiser Lori
Parrish in August. There are still two public hearings scheduled for
September on the city‘s proposed budget, but commissioners cannot raise
the taxes beyond $4.12 per $1,000. The vote to approve the tentative tax
rate was 4-1, only commissioner Charlotte Rodstrom voted no. [Sun
