Citizens Property Insurance proposes #fff;background:#99660

While a Citizens Property Insurance committee approved a proposal to
increase premiums by up to 11.3 percent, some rate decreases for Miami
Beach and coastal areas in Broward and Palm Beach County were also
proposed. The insurer, which is backed by the state, also drafted a
report detailing rate changes including those for homeowners, renters,
condo units and mobile homes. The proposed hikes include a 9.6 percent
increase in Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, along with 11.2 percent for
hurricane coverage in Broward and Palm Beach counties. [Sun
