Fears mount over drywall remediation scams

Homeowners troubled by tainted drywall in their homes are turning to a
host of unregulated businesses that are seeking to capitalize on the
drywall crisis. Skip Hillman had previously grown pot and run an
overseas hook-up service before turning to a venture to help save
desperate homeowners from Chinese drywall. There is currently no
oversight at the state or federal level of drywall remediation
companies. Of 47 remediation companies identified, 26 were created since
January 2009. Only 18 are run by licensed general, building or
residential contractors. [Sun
