Hollywood’s famed Deli Den restaurant, which has fed the likes of New York Yankee Joe DiMaggio, and Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign and which abruptly closed earlier this year, has plans to reopen in Pembroke Pines’s Flamingo Market Place shopping center in the coming weeks. The New York-inspired deli has been a local favorite since it opened in 1971 on Sheridan Street in Hollywood and was located at 2889 Stirling Road for 17 years. The new location will feature the same menu but will surround customers with a “nicer, new and improved look,” said co-owner Bernie Emano, who purchased the business four years ago. [Sun Sentinel]
