Three plead guilty in mortgage fraud scheme

Three South Florida residents have pleaded guilty to their parts in a
multi-million dollar mortgage fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Wifredo Ferrer
announced today. John Fisher, Tracey Balli, Justina Bryan and Delano
McLennon are set to go before Judge Ursula Ungaro Nov. 19 for
sentencing. According to records in court and in the plea hearing, the
defendants, along with other conspirators, engaged in a scheme to cause
property in Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter and other towns to be bought and
sold through straw buyers who obtained mortgages based on fraudulent
applications. According to the records, lenders issued nearly $2.5
million in loans to the defendants and their co-conspirators. TRD
