Coral Gables resident sues condo association over second-hand smoke

A Coral Gables resident and real estate agent is preparing to sue her former condominium association for the costs she incurred while trying to seal off her apartment from second-hand cigarette smoke. The agent, Ana Anderson, ultimately moved out of her apartment at Silver Palms because her neighbors’ smoke was leaking so badly through the walls and ventilation system that she became physically ill, but only after spending $2,000 trying to seal off the leaks. She plans to sue if the condo association does not recoup those costs, plus the cost of her medical bills and wages lost because of her illness. She also wants Silver Palms to go smoke-free.
