FSU to get new $100M animation school

Digital production mogul John Textor and the city of West Palm Beach released plans this morning for Florida State Film School’s new digital animation school. Textor, of Digital Domain Holdings, is building the facility in exchange for the 2.4-acre site, plus a $10 million grant and $15 million in city bonds. The first phase of the project is a 150,000-to-340,000-square-foot building that will contain an animation studio and space for the university’s film school. When all is said and done Textor will have delivered a $100 million-plus facility that is expected to serve 1,000 students by 2016. [Palm Beach Post]
