30-year fixed mortgage rate rises: Freddie

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rate went up this week, according to Freddie Mac’s Primary Mortgage Market Survey released today. At the same time the five-year adjustable rate rose slightly, while other rates remained flat or fell lower. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.35 percent for the week ending today, up from 4.32 percent last week and 5.07 percent for the same week last year. The five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 3.56 percent this week, up from 3.54 percent last week and 4.51 percent the same week in 2009.
