Former Sen. Bob Graham will lead a “financial crisis” commission coming
to Miami on Tuesday to study the effect of mortgage fraud in South
Florida. The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission is hosting a hearing at
Florida International University focusing on predatory lending and loan
fraud. The hearing will be open to the public and will feature experts on
the issue, along with victims of mortgage fraud and law enforcement
officers. Joan Silverstein, a prosecutor with the Miami U.S. Attorney’s
economic crimes unit, told
The Real Deal about the
problem
earlier this summer. [Miami
