Evangeline Gouletas, who founded a real estate company in Chicago in
1969, is the developer behind Miami’s SkyPlace on Brickell. But in
addition to her development, she dances tango, rides horseback, collects
fine china and even worked on the Minuteman Missile program. Gouletas,
who was once the first lady of New York State, moved to Miami in 2000 to
found her own business. “I wanted to make a difference in the skyline —
it wouldn’t be Chicago without its skyline. It wouldn’t be Miami without
its skyline,” Gouletas said. “I was looking to influence the skyline in
all these major cities.” Gouletas is the chairman and CEO of Skyline
Equities Realty and Skyline Realty International, a brokerage firm. [Miami
