Foreclosure firm fights AG subpoena

The law firm of Shapiro & Fishman, which has offices in Tampa and
Boca Raton, is fighting a motion by the attorney general to subpoena the
firm. A Palm Beach County judge is expected to rule today on a motion
to quash the subpoena.The firm’s attorney, Gerald Richman of Richman
Greer, argued in front of Judge Jack Cox that the attorney general’s
office had no jurisdiction to investigate the firm, that the subpoena
was too broad and that some information was protected by the
attorney-client privilege.  The firm is one of four under investigation
for allegedly questionable foreclosure practices. [Palm
