A month after fire, electricity restored at Miami Beach building

The lights are back on at Normandy Isle’s Colony Terrace Apartments in Miami Beach, after a fire knocked out the power at the building more than a month ago. The city finally gave Florida Power & Light the go-ahead to restore electricity to the building late Tuesday evening, having finally deemed it safe again, and families who live in the 12-unit building began moving back in yesterday. City officials still say more work is needed at the property before it passes a final inspection. [Miami Herald]
