New restaurants springing up in Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale’s E. Las Olas Boulevard could be getting two new high-end restaurants. The first, a steakhouse from the owners of the New York Prime in Boca Raton and Gulfstream Café in Jupiter, will be called Rare. It is set to open on a yet-to-be-determined date at 401 E. Las Olas Bouelvard — the space that used to house BOVA. Across the street at No. 350, a burger gastropub is in negotiations to take over the former Samba Room space, which closed in August after 10 years. Meanwhile, Rocco’s Tacos is already planning its debut further down the road, where Smith & Jones used to be. [Sun Sentinel]
