Fannie Mae shifts Florida foreclosure work

Fannie Mae has hired nine new Florida law firms to handle foreclosures
after suspending business with the law firm of David J. Stern in
Plantation. The organization is also evaluating other companies it
currently uses in the state. The names of the firms were not immediately
available yesterday afternoon. Fannie Mae previously used seven firms
in Florida, with four of them now under investigation by the state
Attorney General’s office, including Stern’s firm and Shapiro &
Fishman, which has offices in Boca Raton and Tampa. [Palm
