Drywall settlement goes up

Customers who purchased defective Chinese drywall from home improvement
store chain Lowe’s are seeing an increase in the company’s settlement.
In an earlier agreement, the company was offering $4,500 in cash and
gift cards; for those who could not provide a proof of purchase, it
offered $100 gift cards. In the revised settlement, Lowe’s will provide
up to $100,000 for those who can prove damages while providing a
canceled check or credit card statement. The cost of fixing a home hurt
by drywall can cost more than $100,000. [SFBJ]
