Boca Raton plans for Ocean Strand park

The 15-acre oceanfront Ocean Strand property has long been the subject
of debate, as residents who live near the site have demanded it be
converted into a recreational facility like a park. The problem has been
that the site has been designated as a residential-use property,
meaning it cannot be converted. Now, things are changing, however, and
the park district has set aside $100,000 to begin planning what might go
on the land. Last week, the City Council encouraged the district to
begin the process of changing the land’s designation. [Palm
