Groundbreaking for Harbourside, a $150 million hotel and marina complex at the site of the Burt Reynolds & Friends Museum, could come in June, following last night’s final approval of architectural plans. “We have our financing ready to go,” said Nick Mastroianni, an official with Allied Capital & Development of Florida, the Palm Beach Gardens-based developers. The 300,000-square-foot waterfront project, located on 10 acres at the northwest corner of Indiantown Road and U.S. 1, was approved in December 2008. The plans — which were approved by a 4-1 vote — call for a five-story, 178-room hotel with a rooftop bar, two parking garages, restaurants with outdoor seating, a 30-slip marina and retail stores.
