Peter Ticktin, a South Florida attorney who gained national attention for his work in foreclosure defense, is now fighting with the bank to keep his house. In 2007, Deutsche Bank began foreclosure proceedings on the lawyer’s Boca Raton home, and Ticktin and his wife haven’t made a mortgage payment on their home since December 2006. Ticktin has used a similar strategy to fight as the one he recommends to his clients: uncovering questionable paperwork and poorly prepared files. Court filings show Ticktin owes the bank $572,294 plus other fees on a loan taken out in 2004. [Sun Sentinel]
