Water damage that caused a partial ceiling collapse at a U.S. Postal Service annex at 1401 S. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale is not expected to affect mail delivery today, the busiest mailing day of the year, according to postal officials. The water damage may be due to Saturday’s heavy rain combined with maintenance on the building’s air conditioning system, said Debbie Fetterly, a spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service. There were no reported injuries, no mail was damaged and delivery will not be impacted, Fetterly said. The U.S. Postal Service leases the annex. The building’s owner was notified and repair crews were at the scene. [Sun-Sentinel]
