Commecial real estate investment firm Marcus & Millichap has released its first iPhone application, the company announced yesterday. The free app, available on iTunes for the Apple-produced phone, provides users with a Rolodex of Marcus & Millichap agents. After browsing the agent rosters, users are able to instantly e-mail or text message the agent of their choice from the application, which can also be used on the Apple iPad device.
Richard Peltz, senior vice president and chief information officer with the firm, said that the application is “the very first commercial real estate investment app on the market that allows investor clients to communicate directly with agents.”
The app is, however, reminiscent of an application from CB Richard Ellis, released in March, which allows users to browse the commercial firm’s agents’ contact information.
A spokesperson for Marcus & Millichap noted that while “a client can directly text or e-mail an agent” without the application, the program helps those who “don’t know the agent’s name [or] are trying to find a specific property type. TRD
