Young lawyers dominated foreclosure firms

More than 260 attorneys work today at four of Florida’s biggest foreclosure law firms, and 48 percent of them have been practicing law for less than three years. Half of the 156 attorneys who started the year working at David Stern’s law firm had been practicing four less than four years. Now, some may face Bar investigations that could threaten their careers. Attorney Matt Weidner, a foreclosure defense lawyer in St. Petersburg, said lawyers shared much of the blame in the foreclosure scandal, but younger attorneys may have simply followed the lead of their employers. “The attorneys are the key,” Weidner said. “But I know the younger attorneys had no idea what they were doing.” [Palm Beach Post]
