Broward County led the state in 2010 in terms of the number of lodgings with reported bedbug violations, according to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. There were 68 such properties with bedbug violations statewide last year, or 18 percent of all licensed hotels, motels, apartments and condos, up from 30, or .08 percent, in 2009. Broward County topped the violations list with 13 establishments, while another popular tourist destination, Orange County, came in second with 10. [Sun Sentinel]
