Florida’s foreclosure backlog is still above 350,000 in state courts,
with judges finding a slowly-moving pile of files despite working
through cases at a very fast pace. According to the report released by
the Office of State Courts Administration, the state’s 20 circuit courts
cleared 40,211 cases in the fourth quarter of 2010, down from 71,514
cases cleared in the third quarter. Palm Beach County lowered its
backlog to 32,284, down from 55,000 in the early part of last year.
