Collapse at Majestic Hotel shutters restaurant

A building overhang at Miami Beach’s Majestic Hotel collapsed onto the Ocean Drive sidewalk below this past Friday afternoon, causing hotel restaurant Ocean Seven to shutter for up to two weeks. According to building inspectors who arrived at the scene, the collapse was caused by “wear and tear,” exacerbated by a build-up of water on top of the overhang. No one was injured in the accident.
