Yoss to shed prime South Florida office space

March 16, 2011 02:15PM

One of South Florida’s largest law firms, Yoss LLP, is about to abandon almost 80,000 square feet of prime office space after announcing Monday that it was planning to shut down and lay off around 180 attorneys and 100 staff members. Among the real estate currently occupied by the firm are 45,118 square feet at Hines’ 2525 Ponce de Leon building in Coral Gables and 23,144 square feet at USAA Real Estate’s 350 Las Olas Centre in Fort Lauderdale. Hines already received a call from managing partner George Yoss to discuss the future of the space, while USAA has not. The closure follows that of David Stern’s foreclosure law firm, which is leaving about 188,000 square feet of office space in Plantation. [SFBJ]
