Morton’s may seek restaurant buyers

Morton’s Restaurant Group is mulling a sale and has tapped Jefferies & Company to conduct a strategic review of its finances, the company said yesterday. Morton’s operates 77 steakhouses, seven of which are in South Florida, with locations in Boca Raton, Carol Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach and Palm Beach. The company said it has the support of its two largest shareholders, Castle Harlan and Laurel Crown Partners, to explore a possible sale. [SFBJ]
