Miami home sales keep pace

Sales of both condominiums and single-family homes rose in February,
according to data from the Miami Association of Realtors. There were 859
condo sales in February, compared to 545 in February 2010, an increase
of 58 percent. On the single-family home side, sales rose 21 percent, up
to 540 from 445 in February of last year. “Numbers are certainly
trending in a positive direction,” said Jack Levine, chairman of the
Board of the Miami Association of Realtors. “We are even seeing
instances in certain neighborhoods with multiple offers above asking
price, which is resulting in healthy absorption of housing inventory in
Miami-Dade County.” TRD
