Controversial provisions of a Florida bill that would have shut down the
state’s Division of Condominiums was struck down by a state house
committee yesterday, meaning the division will stay. An amendment that
removed the provisions from House Bill 5005 passed the House Economic
Affairs Committee, which is chaired by Rep. Dorothy Hukill. The
amendment also means state consumer protection laws, along with programs
for condo owners and board members, will remain intact. [Sun
