Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to open its first Fort Lauderdale outpost tomorrow at 1736 N. Federal Highway, marking the restaurant’s 23rd South Florida venture. Chipotle, which was founded in Colorado in 1993, will be continuing its new focus on green design at the Fort Lauderdale location. Among the “green” features of the restaurant: recycled drywall, low VOC paints and energy efficient appliances, plus bowls made from recycled newsprint, the company said in an announcement. Chipotle launched a new kids menu in South Florida this past November and will be offering those items in Fort Lauderdale in addition to its signature burritos, tacos, bowls and salads. [SFBJ]
