U.S. ranked seventh-worst housing market

While the nation’s housing woes may feel profound, the U.S. ranked just seventh on Business Insider’s list of the top 11 worst housing markets in the world. A Case-Shiller report released today showed that housing prices in the U.S. are down 3.1 percent from a year ago, but other global markets are faring much worse. The worst market, Ireland, has seen a 10.8 percent decline in home values since this time a year ago, according to data from Knight Frank, a global real estate database, while second- and third-place markets, Lituania and the Ukraine, saw a 10.1 percent drop and 7.8 percent drop, respectively.
