Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has brought a lawsuit against a
35-year-old Boca Raton resident alleging that he charged homeowners an
upfront fee for loan modification services, according to Palm Beach
County Circuit Court records. The suit argues that Jared Grob, who owned
the now-defunct U.S. Mitigators, charged foreclosed homeowners a $2,100
upfront fee for assistance with foreclosure problems, contrary to
Florida law, which prohibits such up-front fees. [Palm
