An illegal construction site at 2238 N.W. 2 Avenue in Miami will be shuttered by the end of the week after a year of noise complaints by residents of the neighboring New Horizon Square Apartments and Wynwood Lofts. The site, which belongs to developer David Lombardi, was being used by contractor American Engineering as a staging area for its nearby, $16 million project on Biscayne Boulevard for the Department of Transportation. But American lacks permits for work there, and although it’s not the first time it has been pressured to move out or obtain a permit, Segio Guadix, the city’s Code Enforcement Director, said he will enforce the deadline this time around. David Guerra, project manager for American, said he plans to have his crews gone by Friday. [Open Media Miami via Miami Herald]
