JPMorgan putting $100M into Florida branches

JPMorgan Chase is planning to invest $100 million over the next two years to expand its reach within Florida, the South Florida Business Journal reported. The bank had previously announced that it would add between 375 and 500 branches in the state by 2015. Today’s announcement revealed that 37 of those branches are slated to open this year. The bank will also move its South Florida headquarters, currently located in 30,000 square feet at One Biscayne Tower, to a new office building in Miami, it said. A formal announcement of the location won’t be made until May, but previous reports pegged Chase Bank as in talks to take 50,000 square feet at 1450 Brickell. Meanwhile, the following locations will be home to new Chase branches over the next couple of months: 525 N.E. Seventh Street in Delray Beach, 6975 Taft Street in Hollywood, 8285 W. Sunrise Bouelvard in Plantation, 1450 Brickell Avenue in Miami. [SFBJ]
